Sun Zhuo, the real-life long-lost boy portrayed in a 2014 movie directed by Peter Chan called “Dearest”, was finally reunited with his parents in early December. The movie brought the pervasive issue of child abduction and trafficking in China into the spotlight. Ironically, when I was about to review this movie recently, I found that it had been banned from all online video sites in the country. As one of the top-rated movies by Peter Chan, each of the cast members gave the best performance, including the under-five roles. Perhaps not surprisingly, actors don’t need any acting skills to excel themselves to portray the parents suffering from child trafficking, because emotions are shared across all humans while losing a child is one of the greatest pains in the world.
反映拐卖儿童现象的电影《亲爱的》原型之一孙海洋的儿子孙卓已于12月初被找到了。然而最近当我想要重温这部电影的时候，发现它早已被各大视频平台封禁。这部电影是陈可辛导演最受好评的电影之一，演员们几乎没有任何表演痕迹，包括几个临时演员。其实不难理解，孩子被拐这种事，只要简单想想就很容易崩溃，即使再糟糕的演员，表现这种痛苦都会情不自禁，信手拈来，所以根本不需要演技的，毕竟人类的情感是相通的。
It is also notable that for certain reasons, the theme song performed by the cast has been erased from the country’s internet as well. The movie should have been a very ideal tool to be used to crack down on child trafficking in the country. Banning it makes no sense to me at all.
值得一提的是，几名主演合唱的《亲爱的小孩》，和电影本身一样，由于某些原因也已经全网下架了，想要欣赏只能通过DVD和CD。这部电影是多么好的宣传打拐的材料！很可惜。
Sun Zhuo told the state media that he understood how hard his biological parents have been working all these years to find him, but he was not considering leaving his adoptive parents because they had taken care of him for more than 10 years. Many people expressed their disappointment over Sun Zhuo’s attitude toward his adoptive parents. After all, it is the criminal buyers that have served as the direct cause of the rampant child trafficking in China. The latest good news is that Sun Zhuo has agreed to live with his biological parents based in Shenzhen, and will continue his study there. Sun Haiyang is now happily driving on the road to get his son back from Shandong Province thousands of miles away.
“我在两边父母这里都受到满满的爱，亲生父母找了我十多年，非常辛苦，养父母养育了我十多年，也很辛苦，那边的朋友、回忆这些东西都不是一时半会能割舍的。” 孙卓的这番话，伤了很多人的心，因为大多数人觉得养父母是十恶不赦的，孙卓应该果断离开他们。最新的消息是，孙卓已同意到亲生父母所在的深圳市完成高中学业。孙海洋正开心地亲自驱车到千里之外的山东省把儿子接回来。
Hope the country will make legislative adjustments as quickly as possible to severely punish each and every criminal involved in child trafficking, especially the buyers. Under current Chinese law, the maximum punishment for human trafficking is death, while buyers of trafficked people can be jailed for up to three years ONLY.
希望国家能够尽快科学立法，严惩儿童贩卖环节的每一个人，尤其是买家，他们是拐卖儿童这一罪恶的根源。按照目前的法律，买家最高刑罚仅仅是入狱3年。
It’s my dream that human trafficking will be eliminated soon from the civilized world.

PS: it’s nonsense to require an artist to be a saint at the same time. Sometimes we just admire art, not necessarily the artists themselves.
题外话：德艺双馨只是大家一个美好的愿望罢了。德和艺本应该分开评判。观众喜欢的是艺术，不一定非要喜欢艺人。不能因为艺人失德而否定他的艺术。
